Libretto president speaks at industry events

BOSTON, October 18, 2006 – Libretto president Neal Kane today made a presentation to RISC (Regional Independent School Communicators), an organization of communications practitioners at independent schools across New England. Kane’s presentation, which took place at the Dana Hall School, focused on strategies communication professionals can use to keep the writing-related aspects of their projects fresh and vital. His talk was illustrated with examples from Libretto’s portfolio of projects for educational institutions, including viewbooks, case statements, and interactive projects.

Kane also spoke in May at the annual meeting of the Boston chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), the nation’s leading professional association for designers. Entitled “What the Writer Saw: Reflections On 20 Years in the Design Community,” his talk focused on lessons learned over the course of two decades of collaboration with the Boston design community.

“Many of Libretto’s most rewarding projects have resulted from our relationships with design firms and educational institutions,” notes Kane. “It’s very gratifying to share the collective insight of the Libretto team with colleagues and professionals who value excellent writing, and appreciate the critical role that messaging plays in successful communications.”

Libretto supports Pine Street Inn’s fundraising efforts with inspiring name

BOSTON, June 12, 2006 – Pine Street Inn is one of the largest not-for-profit organizations in Boston, offering shelter and housing services to the homeless community. This year, Pine Street Inn, rather than hold its annual fundraising dinner, opted to hold a fundraising breakfast, and came to Libretto to name the event. Libretto coined the title “Home Remedy,” a name representing the aid and comfort Pine Street offers its guests. The breakfast, held on April 11, included a silent auction and featured New England Patriots Chairman and CEO Bob Kraft as keynote speaker.

Libretto has worked with Pine Street in the past, most recently on an ad campaign promoting the Inn’s holiday gift card fundraiser. One of Pine Street Inn’s shelters is located near the Libretto office, and Libretto’s frequent collaborations with them exemplify the qualities of a good neighbor.

“The idea behind Home Remedy is that more than any other New England organization, Pine Street Inn is making great strides towards addressing issues about shelter and housing,” says Libretto President Neal Kane. “Working with Pine Street Inn gives us the opportunity to devote our heart, soul and expertise to an effort we believe in deeply.”

Libretto creates 150 pages of Web content for Iron Mountain

BOSTON, June 15, 2006 – Libretto recently completed one of the more ambitious projects in the company’s recent history: 150 new pages of Web content that were used to help information management leader Iron Mountain revamp its website. Founded in 1951, Iron Mountain is a trusted partner to more than 90,000 organizations throughout the world, delivering an array of solutions that help reduce the risks associated with information protection and storage.

This highly complex project was successfully completed within three months. It required Libretto’s team of five writers to work closely with more than 25 key company stakeholders to ensure that copies and reviews remained on schedule. “Each of us had to digest and repurpose an enormous amount of information in a incredibly short timeframe,” comments Chris Kane, project manager and senior writer. “What’s more, all of the new material had to share a consistent voice. The result is a comprehensive yet manageable site that’s user-friendly and easy to understand.”

In addition to content describing the company’s products and services, Libretto also worked with Iron Mountain to implement content for more than 15 solution areas, in support of a new sales initiative.

Since the re-launch of www.ironmountain.com, Libretto has continued to provide strategic writing services to Iron Mountain, successfully completing projects for both Web and print applications.
