Aga Khan Program in Islamic Architecture at Harvard and MIT
The
Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture focuses on the study
and advancement of Islamic architecture and art. Established
in 1979 by His Highness the Aga Khan through a unique partnership
between Harvard and MIT, the program supports the work of graduate
and postdoctoral students immersed in the relation of Islamic
cultures to landscape architecture, art history, architectural
theory, and related disciplines.
Working with our partner, Ink Design, Libretto helped shape a
piece combining information for prospective students with faculty
profiles and exquisite imagery from the program’s archives.
Our work on the program booklet continued a creative collaboration
that began with a poster and brochure developed to promote another
of His Highness the Aga Khan’s initiatives – ArchNet,
the world’s largest online architectural library.
"Working with Libretto on the brochure was a creative process
that
challenged my own understanding of the program. Seen through
fresh
eyes, the program emerged as a vital and vibrant force. Libretto
captured the essence of a very complex academic enterprise."
