Dan's Chocolates

Dan’s Chocolates is an e-business that sells gourmet chocolates over the Internet. The company’s key differentiator — besides its humorous and somewhat irreverent approach — is its commitment to donate a percentage of each purchase to a charity of the buyer’s choosing. Libretto was asked to create a tagline for the company, provide names for chocolates within Dan’s product lines, and develop website copy for the company launch.

Because chocolate and charity form the foundation for Dan’s Chocolates, the tagline needed to reflect this dual focus. We also understood the value of the company’s personality and sought to represent it in the tagline, as well as in our product naming efforts. In addition to the tagline “Great Chocolates, Good Will,” Libretto also conceived a “warning” for product boxes: “Be careful of spontaneous consumption.” Product names include Drom-a-Dairys (shaped like camels) and Nutropolis (chocolate covered hazelnuts).
