A nationally recognized leader in workforce development, Jewish Vocational Services (JVS) engaged Libretto to spearhead the communications strategy for an ambitious campaign.
The campaign’s initial case for support positioned JVS as a critical resource for employers in a strong economy. After conducting on-site discovery with staff, board members, and volunteer leadership in early 2020, we needed to dramatically pivot the campaign’s positioning in light of the onset of the pandemic and record high unemployment.
Through a collaborative and iterative process, Libretto developed a campaign messaging platform that encompasses both organizational and campaign messaging. The platform reflects the organization’s celebrated history as a champion of immigrants and people of color, and effectively positions JVS as a proven economic driver and indispensable resource for Greater Boston.
The campaign’s name—The Work Ahead—reflects the optimism and commitment embodied by staff, leadership, and those JVS serves. In addition to the messaging platform and name, Libretto developed a campaign pitch presentation for donor conversations and supported the JVS team as they produced their virtual gala and campaign launch event.
We have continued to work with JVS on projects that include the name and messaging for their groundbreaking healthcare and biomedical career training center, ArLab, and a digest of their 2024-2026 strategic plan.
Jonathan Nierman, Chief Development Officer, JVS Boston“Libretto’s thoughtful discovery and subsequent creation of an institutional messaging platform was an instrumental step in the process of launching our most recent capital campaign. It brought clarity to our narratives with key donors. We are six months out from the close of this campaign, and I still rely upon it regularly to help shape conversations with funders.”
