Remembering Andrea Still Gray

Andrea Still Gray, who worked as Libretto’s Director of Operations from 2007 to 2010, passed away suddenly on December 29. Past and present members of the Libretto family were stunned and saddened by this news.

Andrea was warm, kind, beautiful, insightful, funny, and vivacious. She loved food, cycling, and pop culture. She adored her family and friends, and the feeling was mutual. Her wife, Julie Gray, was the light of her life. Their wedding was a joyous, elegant, kick-up-your-heels affair. We are heartbroken for Julie and for all those who loved Andrea best.

Andrea kept us organized and cheerful, bringing a sense of order and a systematic approach to our creative endeavors. The most unkind word we ever heard her use to describe another person was “grouchy.” She was unambiguously and fully alive for 44 years; she deserved many, many more.

Everyone at Libretto spends their days immersed in words; today, we are at a loss for them, as we mourn our friend and colleague. Andrea brought light into the world. The world will miss that light. So will we.
