Libretto has collaborated with St. Mark's on multiple engagements in support of fundraising and community engagement.
Based in Southborough, Massachusetts, St. Mark’s School is a distinguished independent school with a proud legacy of fostering creativity, leadership, and ethical integrity in accordance with its Episcopal values. As part of its Lives of Consequence campaign, St. Mark’s worked with Libretto to develop a vision paper in support of a residential life initiative that had emerged as a major fundraising priority. The initiative focused on the construction of new dormitories that would reunify the campus and the enhancement of academic spaces devoted to the humanities and social sciences. The vision paper, which included discussion questions, was used as a conversation starter to help socialize and build support for the initiative among major donors. Once the residential initiative had been integrated within the Lives of Consequence effort, Libretto worked with St. Mark’s to shape the content for the campaign’s public-phase case for support.
In response to the national racial reckoning of 2020, St. Mark’s engaged stakeholders from throughout the community in the creation of a Community and Equity Strategic Plan that would clearly and intentionally express the school’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. Libretto worked with St. Mark’s leadership—including its head of school, board chair, and director for community and equity— to translate that institutional strategy into a public-facing, actionable framework. Part of that work involved meeting with students, faculty, staff, and a board task force to pressure-test and refine the document, which would serve as a guide for its equity and diversity initiatives. We also collaborated with St. Mark’s staff to convert the plan into a user-friendly web format.
