Stevenson School sits on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula nestled among lush forests and vibrant marine ecosystems. To make the most of the natural laboratory surrounding them, Stevenson needed to invest in new science facilities—and that necessitated an ambitious fundraising campaign.

Dr. Dan Griffiths, Stevenson’s president, framed the school as a place where curiosity and rigor go hand-in-hand. Students, teachers, families, and board members reinforced this ethos, describing how Stevenson enables learners to grow as the exceptionally talented individuals they are, and citing examples of how faculty members connect classroom learning with the natural splendor of the school’s surroundings.

These unique elements of the Stevenson experience were reflected in the campaign theme we developed, Remarkable Stevenson, a platform that exemplified the uniformly positive qualities of a school where students discover their best selves—and then go on to make their mark on the world. We crafted messaging that underscored how critical investments in the campaign, most notably the new math, science, and engineering center, would sustain the school’s enduring philosophy of experiential learning and whole-child education.

Stevenson exemplifies so many wonderful attributes that it defies easy categorization. It is, in a word, remarkable.
